Penn GDI Annual Forum 2008

Penn GDI is pleased to announce its Second Annual Forum, April 10-11, 2008.
The topic is HIGHER EDUCATION AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, in the context of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Keynote speakers will include: Jorge Balan (OISE/CEDES, Argentina), Cigdem Kagiticibasi (Koc University, Turkey), Devesh Kapur (Penn/CASI), Adama Samassekou (Minister of Education, Mali), I.V. SubbaRao (Govt of Andhra Pradesh, India).

In addition, there will be nine panels spread over the two days:

Penn Global Development Initiative

Penn's Global Development Initiative (GDI) is working to make the university higher profile in international development, policy, and research. They provide funding for student internships abroad with select organizations and host an annual forum in the spring. Penn GDI is collaborating on the eight Millennium Development Goals as set forth by the United Nations as attainable by 2015.
